Anthropic on November 5, 2026 said Personal Finance in Claude is starting to roll out in beta this week for Pro, Max, and Ultra plans in the United States. Subscribers can connect bank and card accounts through Plaid, then ask Claude about balances, spending, and upcoming bills in everyday language.

Access is read-only. Anthropic says Personal Finance cannot move, manage, or invest money, and that the feature is not designed to give investment advice. Claude can make mistakes, so the company tells users to check important figures with their bank.

Background

Anthropic positions the tool as a way to answer money questions from the accounts a user chooses to connect, rather than from generic advice. Example prompts in the announcement include "Where did my money go this month?", whether spending is higher than usual, what is left before payday, and what an APR has cost over a year.

TechCrunch and The Verge reported the same launch window, plan list, Plaid wiring, and read-only limits on November 5. Both note that OpenAI added a similar ChatGPT personal-finance connection through Plaid earlier in 2026 (May, per those outlets). Anthropic's post ends by saying Personal Finance is a first step and that it wants to work with banks, wealth managers, and financial firms on larger decisions alongside licensed professionals.
