PolyBuzz, the AI character chat app from Cloud Whale Interactive Technology, is no longer on Apple's App Store. On October 22, 2026, Apple's app lookup returned no listing for its iPhone app, "PolyBuzz: Chat with Characters", in the US, UK, Canada, Australia or Japan stores. The old App Store page returns Not Found. The service itself is still running: the Android app is on Google Play and the website at polybuzz.ai loads.
Neither Apple nor PolyBuzz has publicly given a reason for the removal. Apps can leave the App Store because Apple removes them or because the developer withdraws them, and from outside the two look the same.
When PolyBuzz Left the App Store
The listing was live in early October. The Internet Archive's copy of the US page from October 4, 2026 shows the app in the Entertainment category with an 18+ age rating, a 4.4 average from about 480,000 ratings, and version 2.2.80 from September 19. CompanionHunt, a site that checks the listing twice a day through Apple's lookup, reported it live on the evening of October 14 (US Eastern time) and gone on October 15. It was still missing in every storefront the site tried on October 19, and no replacement listing appeared under another name or developer.
The app was first listed in 2023 as Poly.AI and renamed PolyBuzz in January 2025, according to the same site's record.
What Still Works After the PolyBuzz App Store Removal
| Platform | Status on October 22, 2026 |
|---|---|
| iPhone and iPad app | Not on the App Store; already-installed copies are not covered by any public statement |
| Android | "PolyBuzz: Chat with AI Friends" on Google Play, same developer, 4.0 stars from 1.19M reviews, 50M+ downloads, rated Mature 17+, last updated October 19, 2026 |
| Web | polybuzz.ai loads and uses the same account |
On an iPhone, the practical route is the website in Safari. Adding it to the Home Screen gives it an app-style icon.
Handling an App Store Subscription
A PolyBuzz membership bought inside the iPhone app is an Apple subscription. Deleting the app or the PolyBuzz account does not stop it. To cancel or check renewal, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. The October 4 archived listing showed these in-app prices:
| In-app product | US price |
|---|---|
| Poly Standard weekly | $4.99 |
| Poly Standard monthly | $9.90 |
| Poly Premium monthly | $19.90 |
| Poly Ultimate monthly | $29.90 |
| Coins | 1,000 for $2.49, 3,000 for $4.99, 8,000 for $9.99 |
CompanionHunt also reports that PolyBuzz's account-deletion rules require no active membership and a coin balance under 100.
PolyBuzz Alternatives on the App Store
These character chat apps still had US App Store listings on October 22, 2026. All are rated 17+ by Apple. Prices are samples from each app's in-app purchase list, which mixes current plans with older offers.
| App | Developer | App Store rating | Sample in-app prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| Character AI | Character Technologies | 4.3 (560,157 ratings) | Character.AI+ $9.99/month or $94.99/year; Lite $4.99 |
| Talkie Lab | SUBSUP | 4.7 (60,020 ratings) | 1 month $9.99, 1 year $49.99, Talkie+ Pro $24.99/month |
| CHAI | Chai Research | 4.2 (299,105 ratings) | Premium $13.99/month; Ultra $29.99/month |
| Replika | Luka | 4.4 (227,699 ratings) | Monthly $7.99–$14.99; yearly $49.99–$69.99 |
Character AI and Talkie are the closest match to PolyBuzz's model of browsing and chatting with user-made characters. Replika centres on one ongoing companion rather than a character library. Content rules, age checks and memory limits differ by app, so read each one's policies before moving over, especially for younger users.
