Grok Bot is SpaceXAI's agent app: you message a Bot the way you would message a coworker, and it does the job on a cloud computer of its own, signing into websites and apps, working in the background and stopping for approval on sensitive steps. On The X Subscription it comes with the Premium ($30 a month), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200) plans. Free and Plus ($8) do not include it.
There is no separate Bot quota on the new plans. Grok Bot draws from the same weekly usage pool as the Grok apps and Cursor, and once that pool is empty, extra work is paid from prepaid credits.
How Grok Bot Works
The product launched in beta in August 2026 and reached enterprise customers on September 3, 2026. According to x.ai's launch post and FAQ, each account gets one persistent cloud computer. Every Bot on the account shares it, including its files, browser sessions and logins, so one Bot can hand work to another. Each Bot gets its own screen and can run one computer-use task at a time, while several Bots can work in parallel.
The FAQ is explicit that the computer belongs to the user, not to an individual Bot, and that separate Bots should not be treated as a security boundary.
Other details from the docs:
- Apps run on macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), Windows (x64 and Arm64), Linux (x64 and Arm64, as .deb, .rpm or AppImage), iOS 18 or later and Android 9 or later. Chats sync across devices.
- Work continues when the laptop or phone is closed, because it runs on the cloud computer.
- "Teach a task" records a browser workflow of up to ten minutes and turns it into a draft skill. Routines then run a skill on a schedule.
- Passwords, two-factor codes and CAPTCHAs go back to the user through a computer takeover. Sensitive actions can pass through Auto Review rules before they run.
- Grok Bot needs cloud data storage, so Cursor's Legacy Privacy Mode is not supported.
Which Plans Include Grok Bot
New self-serve customers sign up for The X Subscription, which bundles Grok, Cursor and X. The prices below are list prices from x.ai's pricing page and the subscription docs, before tax.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included usage | Grok Bot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Limited | No |
| Plus | $8 | $80 | Base pool | No |
| Premium | $30 | $300 | 4x Plus | Yes |
| Super | $100 | $1,000 | 15x Plus | Yes |
| Ultra | $200 | $2,000 | 50x Plus | Yes |
Team seats cost the same per seat as the matching individual tier (Premium $30, Super $100, Ultra $200). Plus is not offered for teams, and one team can mix seat tiers. Enterprise access goes through sales.
Older subscriptions still work. On legacy Cursor plans, Grok Bot is included with Pro, Pro+, Ultra and self-serve Teams. Individual SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy and X Premium+ subscribers can link their Grok account to get Bot usage. SuperGrok Lite does not include Grok Bot. Switching to The X Subscription is optional, but x.ai's docs say a completed unification is permanent.
Grok Bot Usage Limits
Each paid seat gets a weekly pool for first-party usage. The pool is shared across Grok chat, Imagine, Voice, Grok Bot and Grok models in Cursor; it is not split into product quotas. Usage rates differ by product, so a long Bot task can draw more than a chat. x.ai does not publish a fixed number of Bot tasks or hours per tier.
When the pool runs out, you can wait for the weekly reset or buy top-ups. Top-ups load Additional Usage credits, which also pay for third-party models in Cursor from the first request, since those are never part of the pool. Auto Top-up and a monthly spending cap live under Additional usage credits at grok.com/dashboard/billing, and remaining usage shows under Usage at grok.com/dashboard. The Grok Bot app has shown weekly usage in Usage & Billing since version 0.46.0 (September 9, 2026), and the chat warns when you get close to the limit.
On team plans, every seat has its own weekly pool, and the team shares one prepaid balance for Additional Usage.
Grok Bot Alternatives
The Verge's launch coverage named OpenAI's ChatGPT Work, Anthropic's Claude Cowork and Microsoft's Copilot Tasks as the business agent services Grok Bot competes with. Each is tied to its own vendor's subscription, so the deciding factor is usually which ecosystem you already pay for.
For people who want to run an agent on their own hardware, OpenClaw is the open-source option: a self-hosted assistant you install yourself and reach through chat apps such as WhatsApp and Telegram. It is free software, but you bring your own model API keys and handle sandboxing yourself.
→ App ranking: OpenClaw on AI Rank — OpenRouter tokens and requests
In the OpenRouter app ranking for October 10 to 16, 2026, OpenClaw was #7 with 2.66 trillion tokens. Grok Bot is sold through SpaceXAI's own plans and does not appear on that list, so usage between the two cannot be compared directly.
| Grok Bot | OpenClaw | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | SpaceXAI cloud computer | Your own machine or server |
| Cost | Premium plan or higher | Free software plus model API costs |
| Usage cap | Weekly shared pool, then credits | Whatever your API provider allows |
| Interface | Desktop and mobile apps | Chat apps such as WhatsApp and Telegram |
